Hurricane Irma, the most powerful hurricane recorded to date, severely affected the Caribbean islands of Anguilla, Barbuda, Saint Martin, the Virgin Islands, and Turks and Caicos. There was widespread damage to critical infrastructure such as power, telecommunications, water and health facilities and services. Homes have also been severely damaged.
