The UNDP Global Centre for Technology, Innovation and Sustainable Development, in partnership with the British High Commission and SGInnovate, will highlight key tech solutions that have been driving the fight against the pandemic.
The unprecedented challenges, and pace, of COVID-19 have demanded close working between the public and private sectors. In particular, the private sector - from start-ups to international corporates - has played a crucial role in developing products, services, and other solutions to respond to the disease. The private sector is also likely to be similarly essential in supporting societies and economies in recovering from COVID-19 - particularly in lower-income settings.
Join us to hear from companies from the UK and Singapore who are working on COVID-19 response and recovery, and whose solutions could have impact around the world. We will also focus on the role of technology and innovation in tackling COVID-19 in developing countries - including the importance of building strong public and private sector collaboration. The companies sharing their work are:
DiMuto - Providing digital and food inventory visibility for better tracking of their supply chain in considering the disruptions and inventory shortages in the COVID-19 environment, aligning the company’s procurement and finance/treasury functions.
Driver Net - Their fleet and workforce management app is used by local authorities, community transport, Age UK and social enterprises to provide sanitised demand responsive travel, food deliveries and wellbeing checks for vulnerable citizens during COVID-19. Transport modes included buses, vans, e cargo bike, and cycle courier deliveries.
Lucence – Developed SAFER-Sample™ Kit which is a saliva sample collection kit for COVID-19 testing that is accurate, painless, easy and safe
Vivacity Labs - Using their computer vision technology in city streets to monitor and analyse social distancing between pedestrians during COVID-19.
