CBi organised a webinar on Preparing and responding to multi-hazard scenarios (natural hazards during COVID-19) on Tuesday 26 May at 13:00-14:00 Geneva time. This webinar is part of the Connecting Business initiative webinar series on collective private sector action for COVID-19 response and recovery.

Guest speakers include:  

  • Jeffrey Beckles, CEO, Bahamas Chamber of Commerce & Employers Confederation - Mr. Beckles will share experience in responding to COVID-19 in the aftermath of hurricane Dorian.
  • Glen Craig, Chairperson, Vanuatu Business Resilience Council (CBi Member Network in Vanuatu) - Vanuatu was hit by a category 5 cyclone a little over a month ago. Mr. Craig will speak about their experience in responding under lockdown and recovering during COVID-19.
  • Firzan Hashim, Country Director, Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management Sri Lanka (CBi Member Network in Sri Lanka) - The network is collaborating with the government and other stakeholders to prepare or the Monsoon season during covid-19. 
  • Expert commentator: Arvin Caro, Operations Center Director, Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) (CBi Member Network in the Philippines)
